I have been involved in the cultural sector for many years, most recently as a public library administrator. In addition to studies in music, librarianship, and art and design, I hold a recent post-graduate diploma in public administration from the University of York (UK).
My key responsibilities at the CRAG include building strong communications channels through our social media platforms and website, developing engaging roles for our volunteers, coordinating special events, and managing such operational functions as our gift shop.
Curator of Contemporary Art
I am originally from Calgary, but have been living on the Island for nine years. I deeply love the culture of respect for the environment and each other that many live by in this beautiful place, and am grateful to call it my home.
The focus of my graduate studies research at UVic centered on contemporary artists of West Asia living abroad in the world, and the need to open the discourse of art to accept alternative narratives of cultural production globally. I hope to continue that interest as a curator in Campbell River by focusing on giving space and voice to under-represented communities.
