Virtual Workshop with Lucie Chan
July 25 and August 22, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Lucie Chan’s ongoing social art practice and her warm demeanour are sure to provide a safe, enlightening and impactful experience in this workshop oriented towards youth ages 15 to 29. The workshop will be held virtually via the Zoom videoconferencing platform, with the art gallery hosting and Lucie Chan facilitating all experiences. Participants attend both workshop dates, and there will be group as well as one-on-one sessions between the artist and the participants.
Components include: group drawing, poetry reading, group and individual sharing, and learning about Lucie Chan’s artwork and process. Each participant will receive a poem created by Lucie that results from your sharing and conversation with her.

Join us in our studio space alongside Comox-based artist Scott Bertram to practice painting techniques similar to those of our current exhibiting artists. Maximum capacity is 7 participants. COVID-19 safety protocols are in place, and participants are welcome to bring masks.
Scott Bertram is an abstract painter who has been based in the Comox Valley since 2014. His paintings have been shown in solo and group exhibitions across Canada as well as internationally. Scott has previously taught studio art classes at NSCAD University (Halifax), the University of Manitoba (Winnipeg), OCAD University (Toronto) as well as North Island College in Courtenay.
